Ingredients
- 8 oz package of Tootie’s Tempeh
- 1 cup flour
- 2 TBSP cornstarch
- 1 cup soy milk
- 1 tsp salt, split
- 2 cups cornflakes, pulsed
- 3/4 cup agave
- 1 TBSP chili paste
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 TBSP lime juice
Instructions
- Slice tempeh into 4 portions and trim the edges to resemble tenders. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, soy milk, and 1/2 tsp of salt. In a separate bowl, add crushed cornflakes.
- Dip each tender into the batter, then coat in cornflakes. Air fry for 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees F, checking every 5 minutes until golden and crispy.
- While tenders are in the air fryer, prepare the hot honey sauce. In a bowl, whisk together the agave, chili paste, cayenne pepper, 1/2 tsp salt, and lime juice. When tenders come out of the air fryer, toss them in sauce and serve!
