Grilled Tempeh with Chipotle Apple Butter

Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz) cake Tootie's Tempeh
- 8 oz apple butter (your favorite local one will do)
- 4 tsp chipotle pepper hot sauce
- 3 TBSP water
- 4 tsp maple syrup
- Pinch of salt
- For garnish:
- 1 bunch scallion, chopped
- 1 bunch cilantro, picked
Instructions
- Cut tempeh in smaller pieces that are easy to skewer
- Mix all ingredients together except for cilantro and scallion and slather the tempeh so it’s completely covered but reserving half for use while grilling. Let marinate for 2 hours or more.
- Brush tempeh with apple butter mix and grill each side until desired grill marks are achieved and tempeh is warm to touch.
- Top with cilantro and scallions. Chef Mimi reported back that it is delicious!!
